Ball-Joint Doll (BJD) FAQ (in progress)

Q1: A what-joint doll?
A1: BJD is short for ball-jointed doll. Here’s a comprehensive FAQ on the basics of ball-jointed dolls, because copy-pasting it here would take up way too much space.

Q2: Wait, are you selling these instead of cosplay wigs now?? D:
A2: No, we’re selling both at the same time. For now the wigs and eyes are only available in limited quantities; if there’s a lot of interest this will change! But we intend to keep selling cosplay wigs as long as people keep buying them.

Q3: Oh, okay. How much are you selling the boy doll for?
A3: OUR DOLLS ARE NOT FOR SALE. Just the wigs and eyes they are modelling.

Q4: What kind of dolls are they, specifically?
A4: Julian is a male 70 cm SD doll, and Esper is a female MSD. We got Julian and Esper from Bobobie Dolls.

Q5: What do all the size measurements for the wigs mean?
A5: 16 cm (6-7″), 19 cm (7-8″), and 22.5 cm (8-9″) sizes are the measurements around the doll’s head in centimeters (which is how we order them) and then in inches (which is how most US fans discuss them), used to figure out roughly which wigs will fit.

Q6: How do I know what size of eyes to get for my doll?
A6: Most dolls can take multiple sizes of eyes. It’s all a matter of how big you want the irises to look. It’s the difference between how Tuxedo Mask’s eyes are drawn versus Chibi Moon. So, while smaller eyes work great with smaller dolls, they give a whole different and slightly more realistic look to larger dolls- more of the whites show, like on human eyes.

Q7: Are the doll wigs heat resistant?
A7: The doll wigs are made of the same heat-resistant high quality fiber as our cosplay wigs.

You’ve officially become an awesome site. Any plans to get blond wigs with the pigtail clips?

Yes! We love feedback on what wigs to order next. Curly or straight ponytails? Bangs or no bangs? Bright blond or pale? Send us an email with the details of the kind of doll wig you’re looking for. Do note that it will take us some weeks to order them if we decide to carry the suggested style.

Hey! I got a BJD from a website called eluts.com. On the wig measurement it says KDW-31. I don’t know what the 31 means, but the KDW is the type of doll. I was wondering if I could get other KDW wigs that don’t have the 31. Does the 31 stand for the length of the wig? Please help! Thanks!
